How can we streamline a bloated curriculum that piles relentless demands on teachers and students? This workshop will address not only the problem but a process for determining what to cut out, cut back, consolidate and create in your school setting K-12. But, there is more. It is insufficient to simply remove curriculum. There is a need for a refreshed approach to the layout and messaging of curriculum which deliberately engages students and revitalizes teachers enthusiasm when designing learning experiences. How can we refresh and modernize curriculum in collaboration with our students? Shifting the writing of curriculum away from coverage and work through the lens of narrative and employing a storyboarding approach is compelling and accessible to both students and their families.

The workshop is based on Heidi’s recently published new book, Streamlining the Curriculum: Using the Storyboarding Approach to Frame Compelling Student Journeys, co-authored with the brilliant Allison Zmuda published by ASCD.
