Professional Development Online Sessions
Session I
Understanding Voice Implementation

What does it take to successfully implement student voice as a way of being in your school? Every educator has experienced the frustration of failed initiatives, yet with proper preparation, educators can set themselves up for successful voice-related changes. This session will explore common missteps in implementation and then focus on effective preparation for change. Participants will consider the school’s readiness, as well as their own professional preparedness, for voice to become a way of being. Implementation documents and action plans shared during previous voice and aspirations sessions will be utilized.
Session II
Willingness & Motivation for Change

Educators often develop solid implementation plans, yet they fail to take into account colleague’s willingness and motivation for change. This session will challenge participants to explore the power of their voices and consider how to develop the support necessary to inspire voice-related changes. Participants will learn strategies to garner commitment rather than compliance. Participants will revisit action plans started during previous voice and aspirations sessions, reflect on what was learned from successes and challenges, and determine next best steps for implementation.
