Overview: |
Differentiation is not new. Research reveals that differentiation is not well-understood or consistently and thoughtfully applied. Many teachers recognise the need for differentiation; fewer teachers fell equipped with a clear understanding of how to do it well.
How do we apply differentiation consistently and thoughtfully in classroom?
This 8- hour workshop strives to balance clarifying what differentiation is-and is not-with building teacher’s skills in planning for and implementing differentiation with practical strategies and examples for their immediate implication to their work.
This workshop is dedicated to
- Defining differentiation using a model developed by Dr. Carol Ann Tomlinson,
- Providing explicit guidance for how to design differentiated lessons and tasks, beginning with clear learning goals derived from standards and extending to specific adjustments that teachers can make to content, derived process, and product for students’ readiness, interest, and learning profile.
A differentiation handbook with strategies and examples will be shared after the workshop. This handbook features as an extended resource for new teachers and experienced teachers along their professional development journey.
All participants will be issued with a link to the course that will not be shareable with others. Participants will agree to use the video and sound function to enable full participation. Participants will log in by an individual, not as a group. The workshop will not be recorded.
This workshop is suitable for K-12 educators.
Note: the workshop is presented in Mandarin. The content of this workshop is suitable for k-12 teachers who teach any subject with any curriculum setting, such as national curriculum or international curriculum. |
