IN-PERSON WORKSHOP
The definition of Inquiry Fluency entails learners' ability to discern and apply the appropriate strategies in a sequential and scaffolded manner throughout their inquiry journey at each stage of the inquiry cycle. This fluency empowers learners to navigate the complexities of inquiry-based learning by strategically utilizing a repertoire of thinking skills and approaches tailored to the specific demands of each phase in the inquiry process.

In order to equip our learners for the future, wherein they may have access to ICT or AI support to facilitate the acquisition of factual knowledge, it is imperative to foster their capacity as reflective thinkers who possess a well-defined thinking process and a coherent repertoire of strategies. This cognitive toolkit, organized in a concise and sequential manner, empowers learners to take ownership of their inquiry journeys and enables them to pose relevant and probing questions even in intricate and abstract contexts.

This ability is not inherently possessed by students but is cultivated through the learning process. Teachers play a crucial role in establishing the scaffolding for thinking, guiding students to understand and master various thinking strategies, and supporting the construction, evaluation, and adjustment of thinking processes.

In order to help students develop inquiry fluency, teachers themselves need to possess fluency in inquiry and have the skills and methods to foster inquiry fluency. However, the process of developing inquiry fluency often lacks effective guidance and evaluation.

During the two-day interactive workshop, participants will explore the concept of inquiry fluency, understand why learners need inquiry fluency, and discover strategies for developing inquiry fluency in students. They will also learn how to incorporate inquiry fluency into units of study and explore strategies for teachers and curriculum leaders to develop their own inquiry fluency.

The workshop provides participants with the opportunity to collaboratively apply the methods and strategies to any topic. It is suitable for K-12 educators from all subject areas, whether they are new to inquiry-based learning or have prior experience.
