Session 1: Inquiry as an Approach to Amplifying Equity
Globally, equity is increasingly showing up as a moral imperative in education but, are we optimally leveraging inquiry as a means to amplify equity in our learning and teaching practice? In this session, we will take an appreciative inquiry stance to discover and support the “Equity Champion” within us. Our focus will be on strategies for influencing the status quo, by disrupting inequities with intentional, strategic and thoughtful questioning routines and practices that can be personalized for our unique contexts.
Session 2: Inquiry as Action to Foster Belonging
Story is a powerful force for belonging and unbelonging across cultures and generations, but are we intentionally planning to weave together a culture of belonging through story? In this session we will explore how story can be an effective part of the inquiry methodology and support learning about cultural safety, psychological safety and cultural humility. Our focus will be on fostering a sense of belonging among all students while simultaneously intensifying curiosity and engagement with learners.
